Notes

You remember this project?
The short remnants formerly used for embroidery were taken for knitweaving experiments.

What looks like rounded forms should represent leopard paw prints, designed by Iris Bishop for punchcard machines. The pattern is from the booklet “Animal Textures
Making the punchcard and weaving was not a great thing. But cutting the strands took me double as long as the knitweave.
Unfortunately all knitting fell from the machine before I could finish the experiment. I then considered the shawl as long enough and finished it.
Somebody told me, Gobelin yarn is felting like hell, so the shawl underwent a hot washing and the threads got fixed.

I wanted to use up all threads but effortlessly. So I made a simply striped shawl which was also washed and felted. I fixed the edges with zigzag sewing to prevent strands from coming out the fabric.

To keep edges from rolling, ironing from the private side is highly recommended
