At the CCC Hacker Camp I offered a knithacking project. Read more here.
One of my projects was knitting a scarf for the Lenin Monument which was already transformed into a DJ by other hackers. At night the monument bathed in beautyful light shows and I decided to give him a brighter daily outfit.
To knit a scarf for a monument is not as easy as it seems to be. You have to deal with unaccustomed proportions. What seems to be a large cloth, nearly a big stole, vanishes when you try to put it around the neck of a sculpture which measures 6,5m.
The broader part was made in a short-row-pattern which I later transformed into a simple, quickly to knit garter stitch pattern.
Watch me wearing my Troldhassel (huhu, Gila!) when mounting the scarf.
