Notes

Like Olivia the stockinette parts were made on my Brother knitting-machine, single bed.
The cuffs are handknitted and made out of Egyptian cotton yarn in three colors matching to the main yarn.

In the absence of a sketch I made a drawing with the help of the gauge/tension and recalculated the stitches and rows for the machine-part.

I started with the front using waste yarn and knitted to the underarm where I decreased the calculated stitches. Continued to the front neck and finished with some rows of waste yarn.
Same with the back except that I formed a higher neck.
I began the sleeves at the wrist and made the calculated increases. For I didn’t want the neck as deep as in the original pattern I made 6 raglan decreases on each side of every sleeve.

I put the parts together with matress stitches.
The neck stitches were put on a circular needle and in the next round I made the decreases as given in the pattern.
Then the hip was finished. For I wanted a sort of A-line I didn’t make decreases.

Sorry for the lack of pictures this was truely a last minute gift for my mother’s birthday.
