Another 2012 trifecta block that meets three of my craft goals!

Personal crafting goal # 1 (Year of Projects): This block is part of my exploration of bullion stitch crochet.

Personal crafting goal #5 (and Surmount the Stash): This block is made entirely from acrylic stash yarn.

Personal crafting goal #6 and charity project: This block will be going to Heartmade Blessings as part of the Crochetlist March 2012 charity challenge. I’m more experimental with colors when I don’t have to weave in my own ends :).

I was perhaps not as attentive as I should have been to the pattern, since I didn’t have any chains. to work into when I was supposed to do that… I will have to read it more carefully when I get started on the next block.

Updated 4/13/12: So I kind of abandoned by bullion blocks after the unraveling nightmare of March. I decided to re-purpose this block for the Crochetlist charity challenge for April, which is seeking 6” squares. I’ll pull out a few rounds and then finish it off.

Updated (later on) 4/13/12: I pulled back to the end of Round 4 and then added a half double crochet border in white to bring the block to 6 inches.

I used Cape Code Blue as Color A, Bikini as Color B, and White as Color C. I used my trusty Eleggant hook to finish off the block, but the bullion stitches were done using a Boye hook.

This block used approximately 32 yards of yarn.
