This project is a restart of the pattern that I was working on for Knit and Crochet Design Week 2012. (You can see my original project here.)

This is intended as a gift for my friend, JP.

Updated 5/19: Sigh, after having about 25% of the hat done, I noticed some issues in earlier rounds and then got a little overzealous about ripping back. (It was sort of like this episode of Seinfeld!) I ended up starting over.

Updated 5/25: Finished! I like the way this hat came out better than my original, so I’m glad I restarted.

Updated 12/21: Just received this email from my friend (so I guess she didn’t wait until Christmas to open it): “I love my new hat! It is perfect in every way!!!!! I love the color, cables, shape, size, etc…. PERFECT!!!!!
thank you soooo much! Happy to take ugly orange yarn out of your life and into mine!”
