Notes

I have been noticing lately that ponchos are back in style. Remembering how verrrry stylish I felt when I wore a poncho as a child, I decided it would be fun to make one for my grown up self. This one bears absolutely no resemblance in color or pattern to the one from my youth, but it makes me feel just as stylish!

The motifs are inspired by kilim rugs, hence the name. The danglies at the bottom are my own concoction and give the piece a lot of life and movement. It’s funny how the afterthought can make such a difference.

My thanks to my beautiful - and good humored - model, Katie Geringer, who posed in heavy wool very much out of season.
