Alterations

• For the shawl collar I counted 20 sts from each edge & placed markers. Knitted both sides as following: Until three sts before the marker, placed another marker / until 3 / until 3 / until 3 / until 4 / until 4 = 20 sts total. It might have been better to knit until 4, then until 5 or 6, as it’s very steep now. But this is my first bigger piece after hats and scarves and I think it’s pretty good for that :)

Knitting Diary

February 5th (photo 1 from bottom)
Completed the ribbing and the first pattern repeat. Love it so far!

February 6th (photos 2 & 3 from bottom)
Found a mistake in the first pattern repeat. But I don’t think that I will start over…
Finished the second pattern repeat - definitely not going to correct my earlier mistake!

February 12th
Took a little break from this project to finish my “Three Investigators” wristlets & the white hat (see projects)!
Finished the third pattern repeat today.

February 14th (photos 4 & 5 from bottom)
Finished the first 20 rows of the fourth pattern repeat.
Circa 21.5” / 55cm so far.

February 15th
Completed only the fourth pattern repeat and started the first three rows of the next.
Have three and a bit skeins left, hopefully that’s enough?!

February 18th
Made 23 rows in three days… I’m getting so slow, somehow!

February 19th
Finished the fifth pattern repeat, which left me with an exact 28” high piece. Decided to leave it with 28” and not make another half an inch… I like to end with a pattern repeat, makes it all easier. Made most of the rib pattern also, but decided on a shawl collar, so that obviously takes a bit more time, but soon I can see it together and make the armhole ribbing! Yeah!

Made the shawl collar (see above for pattern), bound off, blocked.
Photo 8 is pre-blocking!
Used the night for sewing & knitting the arm ribbings, FINISHED!
