This pattern is well written and detailed as to its explanations of each of the steps. The version in the book, at least, is also interspersed with plenty of guidance pictures so you are never confused as to what you are supposed to be doing next, and the shaping of the piece with a combination of increases, decreases and short rows is wonderful.

This discontinued Jaeger yarn has a large percentage of rayon in it, which gives the piece a wonderful soft shimmer, especially when knit as this tight gauge.

I used some small (6mm) safety eyes instead of embroidering eyes on, just because I think they look cuter.
