I made this over a year ago, but I’ve never been happy with the neck - the one on the pattern doesn’t work as I’ve done the jumper with the right side out instead of the wrong side. I tried a couple of stocking stitch necks, but they just roll up again, so I’ve ripped it out again and am going to try a ribbed neck with a rolled top.

March 2010 - I’ve finally sorted out the neck and am happy with it, maybe I’ll even get to wear it a couple of times before the weather gets too warm!

I picked up the stitches round the neck and knitted one row, then did seven rows of k2p2 rib, and then knitted nine rows and cast off using 6mm needles. A looser cast off still wouldn’t have gone amiss, perhaps a k2tog type, as this is still quite tight. But it goes over my head, so it’s staying!
