Since Elizabeth Zimmermann’s directions are always loose, it might have been easier to knit another pattern with more thorough guidance, but I was game for the challenge. These were knit in the round with two cable needles.

On the second mitten, I did my palm decreases on the third row following the raised CC purl row on the wrist; this prevented the purl row from pulling and puckering unattractively.

I found the thumbs difficult to get just right. I wouldn’t want anyone to look too closely at them.
