Needed a cardigan to de-sexyfy my leather dress. Chose Flaum, because I loved the shape. It’s cool & cute, a winning combination in my book.

This was knit during a holiday on Bonaire, hence the name. The pictures of the FO made me smile, the cardi reminds me of the adorable porcupine (puffer) fish we saw in abundance while snorkeling the beautiful reefs of the island.

Mods

• Fishermans rib: K1, K1 below, next round K1 below, K1. This is so much easier and faster than what the pattern tells you to do. It has the exact same outcome, without the need for purling. The only row where you have to do the K1, P1 below is the row before you start the 1 x 1 rib bottom hem and the last row before the pockets (you can do only the pocket st.)
• Started the pockets when body measured 27 cm from underarm. Made the pocket shallower (7 cm). I did want a cropped cardigan with pockets, but I did not want them to be breast pockets.

I held the three yarns together, and I’m super happy with the outcome. The fabric is tweedy, light, fluffy and very warm. The color is also fantastic: a complex heathered grey.
