Apparently my last endeavor using this stitch pattern left an itch for more. Besides, I have this weird obsession with matchy-matchy, so I guess this was bound to happen…
When I started this adventure, I knew the stitch pattern had so much going on visually, the shape of the sweater had to be really clean, classic and simple. In my book that more or less equals semi-fitted, a crew neck that is on the wider side and a set-in sleeve. Being top heavy, I wanted some waist shaping, and I did not want to shape inside the scallops (whoaaa, just think of the math!), so I’ve knitted the sweater flat (first time in years) and seamed it.
I decided on the colors as I went. I mirrored the sleeves, and took care the half scallops at the beginning and end of a row met there mate when seamed, but other than that I just grabbed a color that looked okay with the surrounding ones.
I must say I loved knitting the sweater. This project really thought me that embarking on some epic knitting adventure without knowing if it’s going to be worth the work and the trouble is fun!
