Working this for my 8 year old as his ‘minecraft’ sweater. The colors are rubies, diamonds, emeralds, and gold. I redid the yoke to look like a minecraft sword.

Note - there is a number error in casting on the body. There are only 4 sizes, but there are 5 numbers for casting on. I believe the first number (132) is an error.

So, I knit the sleeves first to get those out of the way. I knit them in a size 10 so that my boy can wear this sweater for a few years. Unfortunately, I didn’t notice the number error when casting on the body and ended up casting on for a size 8. When it was time to join the arms to the body, my count was off by 8. (I only had 124 sts to split for front and back instead of 132). So, I split the front and back into 62 sts instead and went from there.

To create the minecraft sweater, I joined the arms and body and then knit one round of k3 in color A and K1 in color B. Then I knit one round in color B, increasing by two sts evenly to get myself to a total of 210 sts (a multiple of 10) for my next chart, the sword. There is a chart for you in my pictures if you want to make a Minecraft sweater, too!

Once the sword pattern was done, I decreased by 2 sts evenly to get down to 208 sts (a multiple of 8), and began Chart 2 at line 15. I continued the pattern as written ending with 5cm of ribbing instead of 7.

It’s definitely large on my little 8 year old (room to grow), but he LOVES it!!!
