Lovely, well written pattern, quite quick since there is a lot less “pattern” than I usually knit, just the small travelling cable at the end of each needle. Very pretty!

Dec. 22, 2011: cast-on 8 st with figure 8 - two at a time on magic loop; increased 2 every 2nd row until 30 stitches per side, 60 stitches/sock on needle; start chart.

Dec. 27, 2011: Christmas is over, duties are done - knitting is resumed!

Dec. 30, 2011: 6ply yarn is heavier. Finished my stash-skein while still working on the gusset stitches. So much for stash-busting - these socks will have to hibernate until I find time to buy a second skein to turn the heel and finish them…

reconstruct: bought two more skeins - stash-bust: use one, buy two - and continued with heelturning beginning Jan 9, 2012. Forgot to add slip-stitch heel pattern, but pretend it was on purpose. Spend more time disentangling yarn than actually knitting…

Jan. 20, 2012: For 7th repeat on the leg, change to needle 2,75 mm; for 8th, 9th, 10th repeat on the leg change to needle 3,0 mm.

Jan, 22, 2012: After 10 leg repeats, m3 so that pattern works out to 1ktbl/1p cuff. Going to use most of the rest of the skein (27g) for extra-long cuff. One of the cuffs knit with added elastic for scientific testing…

Jan.24, 2012: finished socks - stockings, rather - after 25 rounds of cuff. Sewing up ends tomorrow, they’ll be washed and blocked in time for P.’s skiing weekend.
