The first one of these I made, I used the Red Heart Holiday with a size H hook (G for the collar). I thought it came out too loose for the bottle.

Second one, I used plain Red Heart Super Saver and used a size 7 hook (F for the collar). It still came out too big for the bottle.

Third one, I used Caron Simply Soft, which is a lighter weight yarn, and a size G hook (F for the collar). This came out loose, but not nearly as loose as the other two.

Since I need to make a bunch of these for my daughter for her wine tastings (http://www.winedowntastings.com/), and this pattern takes a while to make, I changed over to the Wine Bottle Cozy, which is a simpler (and faster) pattern to make.

I’m not sure if I’ll come back to this pattern at some time in the future, but right now I have to get a bunch of these done in only a few days. so Wine Bottle Cozy it is.
