#1 done with I/5.5mm hook:
Finished size: 9-1/4” long x 10-1/4” across bottom.
For the band, I chained 8 and did a sc blo ribbing for 72 rows, 20-1/2” long.
Then I followed the pattern until the top (R1-22). Then I repeated R21 & 22 again so I’d have fewer stitches (32) to gather up. This hat came out a bit on the large size so I made another one with an H/5mm hook because I just loved the pattern and the colors I chose (which almost matched the designer’s colors).

#2 done with H/5mm hook:
Finished size: 9-1/4” long x 9-1/4” across bottom.
For the band, I chained 10 and did a sc blo ribbing for 72 rows, 19” long.
Then I followed the pattern through R18. For R19, I did a decrease round following R21 of the pattern. R20 was a regular (no decrease) round as per pattern R19. I then repeated these 2 rounds (decrease round, regular round) twice more to get down to 22 stitches to gather up.

Yarn usage for both was about the same but #2 did fit me better. I think because the band was shorter and fit my head better.
