Notes

I loved my first Annis Shawl so much that I immediately started on another one. This time, I used a cotton blend, fingering weight yarn in a super bright color.

I loved knitting with the Katia Mississippi and would use this yarn again for another shawl in a different color. It feels so soft and comfortable on my back/arms and the drape is amazing.

The changes that I made to the pattern:

  • For the last row, I knit along the row and then finished with the k2tog…instead of purling across the row with a p2tog. Then, I finished the shawl with a k2tog bind off, instead of a p2tog bind off. this make a row or two of garter for the edge so that it wouldn’t curl over.

  • After doing the lace, I knit row 1 and 2 of the short rows and then skipped right to rows 5 and 6 for the rest of the shawl. This gave it more of a longer, “angel wings” look and shape to the shawl.

I still can’t tell you how much I love this pattern and I could possibly make a 3rd Annis! : )
