Notes

This is a great basic pattern, but I had to make some changes to fit these to my husbands hands and taste :)

These are the changes I made:

  • I cast on a total of 40 stitches for BIG hands.

  • I repeated rows 14 and 15 three more times thus increasing for the thumb gusset a total of 15 stitches. Instead of binding off the stitches I transferred them unto a spare needle. After finishing the hand I picked up these 15 stitches plus two additional stitches and knitted six rows in the round, then I bound off regular.

At this time of the year when it is a little nippy out my husband’s hands get rather cold when hooking the bait etc when fishing. So, when he saw me making fingerless gloves for our sons, friends and myself he put in his own request for a pair.
