Altogether I spent £9.30 on yarn, I found some black marl in my stash for the pupils and nose. I used my wooden, 5 double pointed needles that I got free with an issue of a knitting mag. Size 8mm which worked really well with this super chunky. I bought a value pack of pillows for £3, gave one pillow to my son and then used the other to stuff the owl.
In the Pearl Bee pattern, she uses circular needles. I don’t have any so as I only had 8mm double pointed needles, I used them. Always pull the first stitch on the next needles up tight against the previous stitch on the previous needle to make it snug. I tested the pattern in a chunky and found the tightness of the stitches not tight enough. This super chunky is 100% acrylic but it’s sooo huggable, has a lovely sheen and great stitch definition! I would definitely use this yarn again as it’s such a quick knit. I would love some standard knitted cushion covers in this yarn as it knits up beautifully. I stitched a rather wonky heart on the back just to make it individual and from me to my Mum on Mothers Day.
