05/19/12 So excited about this. I love Faberge, as a child I always loved looking at the beautiful Faberge eggs! As a high school student I took two years of Russian, I love the culture and the history, and how Faberge fits into it. This shawl is going to be wonderful! I cast on and completed part of the edge ribbing, I don’t have beads yet, I’ll have to get some ordered :P I just couldn’t wait to start it :) (even though I’m supposed to wait and do this as a KAL with my sister during her recovery post-surgery on 06/04). I would have cast on a couple days ago, but I needed to treat the blue so it wouldn’t bleed.

06/30/12 Nearly finished with the ruffle, one more decrease left.

07/01/12 Completed ruffle, and ready to start braid. Will hold here for my sister to catch up(maybe, unless she continues to get distracted by the computer - I may just have to finish this on my own).

08/18/12 Gave up waiting for my sister. Nearly completed lattice section, just four more rows and then I can do the second braid. Unfortunately I left the smaller needle home so I’ll have to pick it up Monday when I have to run home for a minute. I love how the colors are working up together!

08/19/12 Completed lattice section. 45g of beads is oodles, i had 20g left over.

08/20/12 Completed second braid and started textured eyelet rows.

08/21/12 All done! I can’t wait to see it blocked! The pattern was clear and directions were easy to follow. I think it was a wonderful pattern to knit!
