Notes

15 Nov 2009 - Added new photos showing handle details and bag proportions

Finished dimensions of the bag:

19” wide

13” tall

5” deep

I wrote a pattern (more like “guidelines”) for creating your own tote with scraps of your favorite self-striping wool.

Make your own by casting on for a garter stitch base and picking up around all four sides when you’re ready to begin knitting in the round -- I cast on approximately 80 stitches for mine then knit till I thought the base was the size I wanted - picking up a matching amount of stitches on both short sides of the bag. Knit in the round till you think the bag is tall enough (felting will shrink the bag more in height than in width - allow for at least 40% and up to 60% - swatching is good!)

Handles are Grayson E backstitched with DMC Perle Cotton Col 938

EDIT: Updated finish date to reflect when I added the straps/handles.
