Tips & Tricks
I carried the second color of yarn up the straight side of the scarf. With the right side facing, I knit the front stitch of the KFB using both yarns, and the back stitch of the KFB using the single color for that row, then continued knitting ‘out and back’ with that color. This anchors the yarn, and makes the straight side (the neck edge) a bit heftier. I did not knit any other stitches with both yarns but this one. Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind-Off was used on the last row.

Take a look at the pix - I like this two color mash-up better than a solid color or a variegated. I have found a new vehicle for my sock yarn leftovers.

I started knitting the berry yarn using one pattern, then another one. I frogged them both, and returned to my favorite, Hitchhiker again. I have knit this scarf for men, women and children; in sock weight to worsted weight yarn; in solids, variegated and tweed yarns, and the results never fail to please. It is a simple and satisfying knit, and really showcases the yarn.

The yarn colors are knit in random stripes, carrying the unused yarn up the straight edge, without cutting the yarn. Together, the two skeins total 150 grams, as specified in the original pattern. This is a 2:1 ratio of the variegated berry color (which shades to a navy blue) to the solid medium blue heather. There are 42 teeth on this scarf. Total weight is 135 grams, about 600 yards.

** I am sad to report my suspicion that someone from work stole this scarf. The fact that they did this confirms they are not knitworthy In Perpetuity!**
