5/8/17 - I have no idea what I’m doing (learning how to knit) so I’m doing a practice run with yarn that cost a lot less so if I won’t cry if I completely ruin it.

5/12/17 - The yarn I’m planning to use for the final shawl finally arrived in the mail. I’m glad I’m using cheaper yarn while I’m learning this pattern. I should specify lest I inspire more criticism: I have been crocheting for years but I’m new to knitting and I learn by working patterns (yes, that I have purchased) that incorporate unfamiliar stitches.

5/14/17 - This pattern works up very quickly which is encouraging. Speed is one of my complaints about knitting vs crochet, but this works up quickly enough to feel rewarding. It’ll be interesting to watch the colors shift while knitting the final shawl. I’m planning to wear the final shawl (not this mint/orange… thing) for my wedding reception and the yarn is so soft and smooth I’m sure it’ll feel amazing on bare shoulders.
