gauge:
26 st/39 r = 4” unwashed
26 st/42 r = 4” washed
Mods and notes:
Started this project at knit nation 2010. :-)
CO 234 instead of 240 stitches due to gauge
Provisional CO to add perhaps afterwards more lenght and to BO with applied I-Cord
Slipped the first three st on rs and ws as purled stitches to get an I-Cord edge
Body: Added length at least 3,5”
Shape armholes with following number of stitches: 60/8/98/8/60 = 234 st
Knit then the size 32” instructions without any mods but in the back part knitted even for 34 instead of 32 rows
After CO the 23 st on both sides began the 71-rows-neck-upperbust part. Will shape it with short rows because I don’t want so much fabric in my back neck:
In the first row knit 51 st. (these are the st which will be folded to the front right side and build the front armhole), place marker, knit 58 st (back), place marker, knit 51
next 7 rows stockinette stitches
In the 9th row start the short rows.
Each short row section is knitted in this way:
knit till 7th st. after the first marker, w&t the next st. and purl the row back (2 rows)
knit one row and pick up the wrap (3 rows)
purl till 7th st after the first marker, w&t the next st. and knit the row back (these are the equivalent rows to the first 2 rows and so they don’t count extra in sum)
purl one row and pick up the wrap (4 rows)
result: 2 rows knitted in the middle, 4 rows on both sides
repeat this short row section non-stop till row 56 rows (counted on the sides), then knit 13 rows straight ending with WS row
BO with applied I-Cord
Sleeves:
Provisional CO for applied I-Cord-BO
Increase every 10th instead every 8th row to get more length 12 times, then every 8th row 8 times
after knitting in the round with magic loop knit the sleeve flat at the beginning of underarm shaping
One skein for the lower body part, 100 gr. of second skein for top body part, third skein for the sleeves
used 390 gr in total, rest 64+10 gr.
