I had a naked teapot and that Would Not Do.

This pattern was concise - no details for doing the embroidery, for example - but straightforward to follow.

I held the Zara yarn double for all the knitting. The basic cosy took exactly one 50g ball, and the ruffle was another 30g.

My modifications and additions:

• I wanted the knob to stick out so the cosy wouldn’t have a floppy open space underneath the top, so I started by making a 12-chain crochet ring, then picked up stitches out of it and knit from round 3 of the pattern.
• I made an additional ruffle at the bottom by crocheting with a single strand of yarn: a round of 5hdc in every stitch, turn, a round of 2sc in every hdc. Increasing the stitch count by 10x makes a firm hyperbolic ruffle :)
• I added a round of sc to the handle opening to tidy it up.
• I crocheted the eyeballs and embroidered on the pupils because I like crochet more than knitting for small structures.
• I joined the sides of the cosy underneath the spout with a few stitches to keep the teapot wrapped snuggly and tight.
