FROGGED April 2020 - no problems with the sweater but it no longer fit Willow and I wanted to reuse the yarn :)

I monkeyed around with sizes for this pattern as my gauge was 22st. I needed about a child’s 8 but I knit the size 12 circumference numbers and decided length based on existing sweaters (plus a bit, since she grows taller so quickly - it’s almost tunic length now but will be a regular sweater next winter).

I did end up modifying the top section a bit after these photos of Willow wearing the sweater were taken, to make the decrease rate slightly slower and thus increase the shoulder/yoke size a little. It was okay as it was, I just wanted a little more room for growth. (Not a pattern problem in any way! The pattern uses very standard shaping, just personal preference and fuss-pottery on my part.)

I also made two matching hats to use up more of the yarn. The smaller one fits Willow well, the larger will probably go in my gift/donation pile. You can see the teeny scrap of yarn I have left in the last photo, so pleasing to use handspun this efficiently!
