The pool is strong in this one. I think this pattern is a good one for this yarn because otherwise there would be massive all over pooling if the short sections of plain knit are any indication. Also, I’m quite enjoying the pattern. It takes me a bit of focus but it’s not complex. And I can see adapting it to different widths of the garter sections already. Very cool.

Worked 5 garter st sections. Started the heel immediately after the 5th (on the first short row on the back of the sock). Going to do a forked heel with 10/12/10 > 5/22/5 and see how that goes.

So when I was on vacation, one of the cats managed to break not one but TWO of my favorite tea mugs. In a fit of yarn-related insanity, I designed myself a new replacement mug. I got it yesterday and am celebrating today by using it for my tea and knitting more on these socks. The socks are relatively slow going because of all the step involved in the garter bands, but I’m really enjoying it - and I love how it’s turning out!

I have three bands done on each leg and I figure I will need at least two more per sock, possibly three. I’ve been working on my shrug the past couple of days since it requires less focus (and has a bigger payoff of more yarn cabinet space being emptied when I finish it) so these socks have been neglected. But not today! Today is all about the sock yarn! Whee!
