Notes

Using left over hand-dyed yarn from the Vivid blanket & other various leftover tiny balls of precious yarn (each ball is approx 10-15 yards)

I used 1 & 1/3 skeins of the main color & made a shawlette with 29 leaves. I carried the main colour up the side, its only a 2 row carry so barely visible. The accent colours I cut & wove in the ends for each stem/leaf.

As others have done, I started with one of my contrast colours & a stem/leaf. I cast on 8 stitches & started with row #1 of the “Stripe & Leaf pattern” section.

TIP: stop after every 3-5 leaf sections & weave in your ends. 1: it keeps the loose ends from getting all tangled & 2: it’s less intimidating at the end.

MEASUREMENTS:
• Each actual leaf (not including the stem) uses 43 inches of yarn
• Stem/Leaf #28 used 7.5 yards of yarn
• One skein of Cascade Heitage (437 yds) would have made a shawlette with 25 leaves.

Size before blocking:
Leaf edge: 40 inches
Longest edge: 65 inches
Bind off edge: 34 inches
number of leaves: 29
