Making as a prayer shawl for a friend.
My second one. All notes can be found on the project page of my first mako HERE.
I forgot how difficult the pattern is to follow on pages 3-5. I wish the designer didn’t break up the sections in 3 different spots on the page. My eyes are bouncing all over the page which makes the knitting more confusing & slower. The pattern is so much easier to read on pages 2 & 6 where it’s all written as one block of text. I think I may need to rewrite the directions (putting all the pieces together as one unit) to make this a easier knit.
Going much faster & easier after I transferred all the instructions to one block of text as follows:
Row 1: top edge, center, sharks tooth
Row 2: sharks tooth, center, top edge
Row 3: top edge, center, sharks tooth
Row 4: sharks tooth, center, top edge
… etc to Row 14
Of course I put the actual directions on my paper for each of these (like the designer did on pages 2 & 6).
3/14: Cast on
3/15: Widening complete
3/16: Starting the Straightaway
Ill for over a week & unable to knit
3/27: finally feeling better & back to knitting. Almost finished with the Straightaway section.
3/28: starting Narrowing
3/30: Finished knitting. Washed & being blocked.
3/31: YAY!! Done.
