26/11/15: This is my first sweater ever. All I ever knitted before were cardigans. Unfortunately, i opted for one knitted in different pieces. I then modified the pattern to knit it in the round. I hope it will work.
My gauge being a little bigger (and knowing that whole stretches when blocked), I am going with size M. I still hope it will be loose enough.
After many projects made with lace of fingering yarn, this seems to go so fast… In an evening, I knitted 10cm of 1/1 ribs and the 8 rows of the 1st pattern repeat. fun ;-)
2/12/15: Almost done with the body. I knitted it in the round to the underarms. 10cm 1/1 ribs and 8 repeats of the pattern. It is about 50cm long for now. I want it longer than the original pattern.
Afterwards, I knitted 4 repeats of the pattern for the back before starting the neck and shoulders.
I am now busy with the front. I made 2 pattern repeats and will now start the neck binds off. Afterwhich, I’ll knit two more pattern repeats before doing the shoulder short rows.
The sleeveholes might be too wide - should have knitted one more pattern repeat before dividing for front and back. I guess I’ll sew the sides on 8 rows before I pick up the sleeve stitches.
6/12/15: It is all done and blocked and I love it!
As I thought, the armholes were a little wide. I sewed 8 rows before picking up the sleeve stitches.
I knitted 100 rows for each sleeve before knitting 20 rows of ribs.
As usual, the yarn stretched when blocked and it is just as wide and long as I expected. I am glad I modified the neckline too. With my big boops, too narrow necklines look ugly.
