i had an unshakeable sweater start itch. it was a tough choice between burrard and doverfell, but the idea of such a classic grampa-ish cardigan in hot pink was just kinda irresistible.
sleeves- follow inc patt for third size, but use final length of smallest size. (k to 17.5 before sleeve cap shaping
but i dont have to keep super close track of sleeve mods because i am knitting the sleeves at the SAME TIME LIKE A BOSS!!! ima do the fronts like this too. it’s gonna be so great.
nov 5- remember remember, this two-at-a-time sleeve trick; they’re done already!!
im almost done the back. i made a few errors with the cables- some of which i tinked back a few rows to fix, others of which i decided to fudge. this piece of fabric looked impossibly long to me… until i remembered that i have only ever made cropped sweaters for myself!!
i always get SUPER MAD at projects when they are almost done. i just have to sew this thing together and knit the buttonbands/collar, and i am too furious to even look at it. grr.
i finished this at 3am the night before i had to teach a bunch of seventh graders at religious school, and i hadn’t exactly planned a lesson… and then i tried it on, and the sleeves and arm holes felt weird and tight and i was sure i was going to have to rip and reknit the sleeves at the very least.
and then, the magic of blocking. I LOVE THIS THING!!!!
