Notes

Test thread here

Mods:

  • make A-line and longer by increasing every 12 rows after sleeve split until the end.
  • smaller needle size
  • long sleeves
  • cast on only 4 stitches at underarm instead of 8.

After sleeve split had 197 stitches.

Sleeves

  • I knit 6 inches without alternating and had to rip it out. At least I discovered that there was a lot of extra room even with fewer stitches picked up. I have narrow shoulders, and should have knit the yoke in M1.
  • pick up 4 and 2 gap stitches. Decrease 2 at the gap stitches so 72 after round 1. Decrease 2 at the center - 70 after round 2. Round 5 decrease 2 - 68. Continue to decrease every 6th row to 50 stitches), then every 8 row to spread out the decreases to 42 stitches for hem (7 stitch repeat).

Pattern calls for 1125 yards for M2. I have 1420. I’d like to use this all so I’m making it A-line and longer, with long sleeves. Will knit until I run out of yarn.

Yarn choiceS: Indigodragonfly DK is 280 yards/100 grams, and Neighborhood Fibers is 229 yards/100 grams. Laura’s Cascade 220 is 220 yards/100 grams, so picked NFC.
