Notes

2023 - gifted to Bernadette

I have been finished this for 3 weeks but have yet to get a nice bunch of FO pictures, as my photographer is out of commisison. Also, deciding on buttons, although I like wearing it with a shawl pin.

KAL for a Rhinebeck Sweater in Laura Aylor’s goup here. Ended up not being able to go to Rhinebeck this year, but at least i have this beautiful sweater.

Notes:

  • Pattern guage is what I will get with fingering, so using that instead of the sport called for. This is thin fingering (and very dry to knit with) but it blocks up beautifully.
  • looking through my sweaters, I see that I have lots of work-suitable cardigans in many colours, except black and grey, so the Maus Alt (Old Mouse) it is! I always prefer a colour over a neutral, but this classically shaped sweater in this dark neutral will be a great addition to my wardrobe.

Mods:

  • after sleeve split, 110 plus 8 for back (118 - size M1). 8 plus 46 plus 4 for each front (later increasing to 63 - size M2). 70 sleeve.
  • started decreases after 4 inches.
  • added to length
  • surprisingly, no buttonholes. I marked the top button spot at the end of the increases for the front, but couldn’t decide between 1, 2, 3 or buttons all the way down. I’m going to use a magnetic button or 2, a shawl pin, or I’ll sew on clasps once I have a chance to wear this.

Sleeves - start with 168 g.
70 stitches. Pick up 12 and decrease to 80. 10 rows decrease then every 6th row. m2 sleeves. At 48 stitches start lace-or would have been too long.

42 grams left from 3rd skein.
