Notes

I love the look of this tee, but I loathe seaming. So I started with the middle back at the armhole, worked up and over the neck, used short rows in front, then connected under the arm with three needle bind off. I was slightly put off when I found the front and back sections differ by TWO stitches in the pattern, but I sorted it out.

Now I’m working down in the round.

I’m about 2/3 down the body now and sooo bored I keep messing up the lattice and having to fix it. I keep looking at the lattice repeat and wishing it had only 7 repeats, like the smaller sizes, with more stitches between. The 9 repeat really changes the look.

I’m done, I think, but I’m really unsure about how the tee looks on. I need to weave in my couple ends and block it.

Looking at the pattern photo again, I realize I went wrong on concept. The design is shaped and styled like a lightweight linen FABRIC, not a knit, which accounts for the boxy shape. After blocking, my sweater achieved this shape; it is also 4” wider and 2” shorter than before blocking. The size is insanely off, something like 60” around. This is ironic, since I went up two needle sizes to match the pattern gauge. I know this sweater is going to stretch out and relax into its normal soft and clingy inclination after only one wearing. I’m frustrated with the pattern and with myself.
