Notes

I totally ditched the pattern and didn’t even look at the photo of the pattern-I used an actual picture of Aayla Secura, Twi’lek Jedi. SO glad I wrote down what I did because I LOVE this hat!!!! ♥ I lovingly shaped the lekku so that they had a gentle curvature as I didn’t like the way some of the finished projects tended to bend…totally not a natural looking lekku. I also tried to better recreate the ears and the brown band around the base of the hat. The following is what I did to make my hat. I am very George McFlyish when it comes to confidence in my pattern writing (scared of rejection) but I want to know if I’ve done this in a way that others understand, so I’m gulping down my fear and sticking it out there:

Dec: YO, insert in next stitch, pull up loop, YO insert hook in next stitch, pull up loop, YO and pull through all loops on hook
BegDCCL: ch 2, YO, insert hook in next stitch, pull up loop, YO, drop 2 loops, YO and pull through remaining loops
DCCL: YO, insert in next stitch, pull up loop, YO, drop 2 loops, YO, insert in next stitch, pull up loop, YO, pull through 2 loops, YO pull through remaining loops

Decorative laces (make 2)
Chain 280 (or amount needed to start at base of blue on hat and wind up and around lekku and back down to the back of the hat secured to the base of blue in back.
I used some regular thread and a needle to tack these in place, even though they seem to want to stay, if you do plan on wearing this, they will slide down. I tacked it at each intersection
