There is no gauge on this pattern so I went with the same size needles the writer used. I tend to knit loosely, and I think I could have gone down a size and perhaps two.

Great pattern for a quick knit you will want to wear immediately. BUT, if you are a loose knitter like I am, go down to an 8 to knit this.
