Notes

The baby is almost here and I need to dash to it to get hats and some other things knitted for it!

The reason this is a very important challenge to me is two years ago the tendons in both of my wrists ruptured as did the one at the base of my right bicep. It has taken me this long to begin to come back from this incredibly painful and debilitating injury. I have to some extent been able to knit with larger needles and yarn, but not my favorite tiny dpn needles and yarn(0’s and fine yarn). I have always knit socks for my husband as he only wears socks that I knit for him and have not been able use the dpn to knit him a pair since this happened. Knitting anything takes me much longer than before and I must go at it at a far slower pace than before this happened and this is very frustrating for me. I pretty much love to knit more than anything else.

The double importance of this is I have a new grand baby due February 17, I want to knit small gauge pretty things for her like I have done for my other grandchildren and children over the years. So I will start out with little newborn sized hats on small dpn needles.

Reason three this is going to be a challenge is that I am also in the middle of lambing and this takes a lot of time away from any possibility of knitting and keeps me very busy out in the barn. But growing more wool has its own importance too……

This seems like a very simple thing but it means a great deal to me. I also will be working on a sweater for the new baby’s baptism. The sweater will only be worked on a row or two at one time so will not be finished in the time frame of the Ravellenic Games.

Baby is here, Brynleigh Amelia, 8 lbs 20 inches long, Healthly and Happy!
