Notes

I whipped this hat up after seeing the adorable knit version Kelly Sue DeConnick commissioned from someone.

“That is super cute, and I want it,” I said to myself. “But I don’t knit.”

So, I sat down with screenshots from Captain Marvel #9 (where the hat made its debut), a few shots of the knitted hat, and I got to work.

The linked pattern is my own. It’s a hybrid between a full pattern (lots of line-by-line instructions) and a tutorial (sprinkled with notes to explain my process). I did it that way because I really like this hat, and it came out great, but I really wanted this information out and useful as quickly as possible so other crocheters could make their own lucky hats.

While my colors are a bit off (yay, loose yarn), I do recommend TLC Essentials in the appropriate shades since it worked so well on the crown (the yellow and red lost their labels long before I got the yarn).
