I feel so grateful to have been chosen as “wip of the week” during the fringe and friends KAL and to have been gifted these skeins of O-Wool Balance! Mike the husband has been asking for a go-with-everything cardigan with pockets so I let him pick the color of the yarn and will knit him his cardigan with it. After showing him a few options, and trying to get nudge him more towards something with more texture/cables to no avail, we settled on this simple CocoKnits cardigan that has been in my faves for awhile now. If all goes well I’ll be able to “borrow” this as well.

Pattern gauge is 18x26 and I got 18x24 gauge on 4.5mm needles so with a little bit of tweaks on the length I think all should be ok. The gauge is so close!

This has become my mindless knitting project that I pick up every now and then to do a few rows of the body. I told Mike that he should expect this sweater sometime in late-ish Spring next year, heh.

Picked this up again today! Determined to not allow it to become UFO-status.

Set aside sts for inset pockets!

Started sleeve one. Knitting size M sleeves while body is in between size S and M.
28-03-2017
Finished both sleeves! Sleeve stitches on pattern are off, originally started by following the M size but the pattern calls for decreasing every 6 rows which is way too frequent to decreased. Ended up just completely improving the sleeves to fit Mike’s arm shape. Decreased only 4 times and spread out more evenly across each arm.

Finished seaming button-band today! It is complete, I can’t believe it! Just need to find the perfect buttons.
