Trying these as two-at-a-time, toe-up, magic loop socks. This will be the first time I’ve ever attempted any of those techniques.

Feb 12: Completed 10 stripes for the foot. Started first heel wedge; began thanks-ma when 8 sts remained.

Details: CO 28st twice (once for each toe, one in light grey and one in dark grey) on a US1 40” circular. Worked 8 rounds in first color, switched colors and worked 8 rounds to end up with 60st for each sock (end of increases). Worked 8 more 8-round stripes for each foot.

Tried placing stitch markers on setup round, but ended up using loop intersections as markers. After setup round, pattern says to rearrange sts; 20 on one side and 40 on the other, taking five stitches from each end of the instep. Half of those were easy, the other half required taking one sock off the magic loop and putting it on DPNs while I rearranged the other, and then putting the first sock back on the loop.

Plan for working the heel: work one wedge on sock A, then after half the thanks-ma stitches, working one wedge on sock B, knitting around to the end of instep B, knitting across instep A, and then doing the full knit around before repeating that process. I’ll report back on what works.
