Gauge swatches (after blocking):

Plain: 14 sts X 17 rows = 4”
(knitted in the round)

Pattern: 14 sts x 14 rows = 4”
(knitted back and forth)

From the pattern instructions, gauge should be 13 sts x 17 rows = 4”

So I am off gauge by 1 stitch according to width. What to do?

Wisdom from others:

• Knit the ribbing on smaller needles
• Combine sizes (one for body, another for arms?)
• If changing # stitches around arm, be sure divisible by 6 before yoke
• Can remove rows: 24, 25, 26, 27, 30, 33, 34, 37 and 42.

Collar looked like it was too small, ripped out.
Cast on again with the largest sized collar (64 stitches)… only increased by 4 stitches in last round of ribbing, in order to make a Medium (40”) size sweater… leading to 68 stitches going into the patterned yoke.

Worked yoke…

Blocked the sweater and lay flat to dry. It grew a small amount but dimensions are OK. Very hairy! Considering giving it a shave.
