Notes

I started this at knit night for something I could knit more casually than the double heelix sock

Feb 26: 156 sts around (a note for later cables)

I’m making a number of modifications.

  1. I don’t want the sweater to taper out. I’ve been losing a lot of weight and want it to be a bit more form-fitting.

  2. I added a claw cable running vertically from under each arm to the hem

  3. I will do a cable at the cuffs and the bottom of the sweater so it doesn’t curl in like ribbing would. I am also considering a cable at the neckline.

  4. Length of the sweater will reach the tops of the back pockets on my jeans. Hopefully, not too long and not too short.

Sweater is finished as of St Pat’s Day. It’s nothing like the original pattern but it fits very well and is very comfortable. The sleeves are big and airy, the yarn is soft and snuggly, the colour is beautiful, and the cables add that extra nice bit of detail to spice up an otherwise plain stockinette sweater. As I continue to lose weight this sweater will still fit well and be comfortable on camping trips, hikes, or evenings where I just need a wooly hug.
