Notes

I don’t think I’m cut out to be a sample knitter, but I thought I’d be a good sport and try. Fortunately, this was a thoroughly pleasant project to work on. I’m a little disappointed that the 4th color in my gradient wasn’t slightly darker, but I adore the colors overall. This project seems like a good way to use colors you love, but don’t necessarily love next to your face. The yarn was delightful to work with - I feel like its pebbly, bouncy texture really lends itself to garter stitch - and I didn’t find a single knot in all 800+ yards. The pattern was so thoughtfully designed, and so darn easy, especially considering the dramatic result. It’s a perfect “mindless” project, with enough changes to keep it from getting dull.

I took a chance and got just one skein of the gray after reading that the original shawl took less than 500 yards of the main color. I used even less, and I could have easily blocked the finished piece larger than the given measurements.
