Notes

Lisa Chemery of Germany has some of the cutest knitwear designs for babies and kids. There are over 3,000 FOs of her Entrechat shrug, with an adult version here. Her construction techniques are clever and simple. I’m honored to be doing my first test for her. I have a lot of kids and babies in my extended family, but unfortunately, they are not normally close by so that I can get a modeled photograph in a timely manner. This time I’m relying on the cute little girl next door.

I chose to make this tunic length rather than dress length. It measures 14 inches (36 cm) from underarm to hem - not including the bobble bind-off. I accidentally forgot to do the few rows of garter stitch at the bottom prior to the bind-off. The garter stitch will definitely help keep the bottom edge from rolling up.

I increased to 240 stitches at the bottom hem and then knitted 2 inches straight before starting the bobble bind-off.

Brittany is extremely small for her age. I could have knitted a smaller size, but I’m glad for the size 10. Now she’ll be able to wear this as a top all through her teenage years, if not longer. Her smile says it all. : - )
