Cast on Jan 1, 2014! About 2” into the first saddle and I’m going to do a gauge change. The Cottage Craft is a light worsted weight, and while I’m getting gauge just fine, I don’t like how stiff my fabric is. Advantage of top down construction! Easy to go up a needle size, change the gauge (I’ll be doing this one at 20 sts to 4” in moss stitch). It’s been a while since I knit my first one, and my tension isn’t as tight as it was back then. Unless I stash dig and find a different yarn….

Update 1/11/2014: decided to stick with the Cottage Craft. I love this color! The cables are already memorized (they’re pretty straight forward, but the one does need row tracking)and it’s a little slow going. I am glad I went up a needle size, as these cables at that tight of a gauge would’ve taken me forever to knit this (it’s already feeling a little slow! Saddles done, back better than halfway to armhole! Love top down construction this way!

Update 02/01/2014: even with going up a needle size, this is killing my hands. There’s no way I can knit it at this gauge. So either I have to find a new yarn or do a complete gauge change (again). I so love the color that I’m tempted to just keep trying with it, but for now, I’ll put it on hold while I play with something else.
