Notes

Making use of some cotton yarns that have been in my stash for a loong time.

A local church collects shoes, sandals and flip-flops for a mission in Haiti. What do shoes have to do with my old cotton yarn? Well, when they fill a shipping barrel with shoes, they stuff the spaces in and around them with personal care items, mostly bars of soap and… washcloths.

I might not be able to make shoes, but I can certainly make some washcloths!!

I used slightly more than half of the two-ounce ball of ‘Landscape’ in the first washcloth - oops! - so incorporated a little scrap of lime green ombre cotton into the second.

Look at the pretty argyle pattern that the I accidentally got from the ‘Orange Sherbt’!!

Why I chose the Double Bump pattern:

  • Lovely Texture, making it interesting both to look at and to knit
  • Simple Four-Row Pattern, which should be easy to remember
  • Reversible – looks Great from both sides
  • Lays Flat even though it doesn’t have a border
  • Slip Stitches enhance the look of variegated yarns, of which I have quite a few!
