Just because it’s been a looong time since I’ve written about the washcloths I knit for students in Haiti – last update was in Dec. 2014 – doesn’t mean I’ve stopped making them. It just means that I’m much better at creating piles of washcloths than I am at weaving in yarn ends and taking photos! lol
Let’s start where I left off back in December, about to play with one of the last two colors of cotton from a mixed bag of yarns that I was given a very long time ago…
white/blue/green Sugar ‘n Cream Twists, (in the bottom-most photo) I striped it with solid green from a partial cone I got at Sal’s.
The seven pink “tweed” ones were knit from a cotton sweater that I unraveled, a terrific source for very inexpensive yarn! More of these to come.
Four purple/olive from another partial cone. Fun to see how each washcloth’s color patterning will come out. More of these to come, too!
The white and tan washcloths (crocheted) are samples I made for the Crochet Corner group at a local nursing home.
Ta-Dah!! Twenty more washcloths, ready to go…
Some of these will go into birthday gift bags for teen foster girls. I’ll show you the gift packs once they’re assembled - I’m imagining a labeled washcloth and scented soap, tied together with a lace bow.
