Cast on at Yellowstone National Park on a snowy morning. The Baktus remains my favorite scarf--making another one with Zauberball to replace my very worn out orange/purple scarf.

Noting that I’ve reached the half way point on Christmas, having knit three sweaters since our trip. Marvelous year for knitting.

This particular dye lot of 1564 Frische Fische was pretty magnificent. I’m using what was left after making socks.

I put this down for a few days and knit a hat. When I picked it up, I forgot to slip the first stitch of every row and knit a couple of inches. I’m not undoing it.

Dropped a stitch today and worked that garter stitch drop repair in no time. I’d forgotten how fun it is to knit something so simple.

US #3 slip first st k wise every row. Increase one st every 6 rows, not 4 by KFB at second stitch.

I added an applied I-cord all the way around the edges of this scarf. I used a 2 1/2 needle and the black/gray yarn. It draws the fabric in slightly and makes the piece more sculptural. I wear it constantly, I like it as well as the OG Baktus I made in 2009.
