Notes

Gauge is 1 st smaller than the pattern gauge so I expected her to turn out bigger, but I’m not sure what happened since Chandra’s head circumference is 58cm (almost 23”) and her total length is 85cm (33.5”). Which seems smaller than the pattern suggested, soooo… no idea lol.

I have no roving but I just stuffed the tentacles with polyfil, I don’t know what difference roving would have made but it worked out fine in the end.

Overall I really liked how this pattern was written, and it was easy to follow and made it a breeze to work up my new friend. I managed to get purchased versions of all the other Cephalopod plushies because I’m a huge fan of the designs and if Opus is any indication, I’ll love each pattern a lot. :)

14 Feb 2019: I finished the first tentacle in full (stuffed and sewn up), and am almost done knitting the second one. I think for an easier time I’ll block the tentacles before sewing, it was hard to make the mattress stitch match with the edges curling so much.

4 March 2019: The eyelids were too small for the 1 inch safety eyes (24mm) because the whole pattern is sized up from my gauge. I CO 12 sts and then decreased as normal for a perfect fit. I stuffed the head after initial temp placement of the eyes to double check before committing.

May 21 2019: Finally finished! I had no further issues with the pattern, just took me a while to keep working on it. I actually managed to learn mirror knitting for the intarsia parts of the tentacles to make it less tedious of a process, too.

I’ve no idea how much yarn actually ended up getting used, but it’s probably a bit less than the project page here says. I was generous with my estimates.
