No modifications other than use a 3.50mm needle for the twisted rib and it was too tight with 3.00mm needles.

I used 68g (185 yards) for the hat, 9g of each three yarns for the pom pom. I think I overstuffed my pom pom and as the yarn ends tend to split, so I have a very plush pom pom. I used this method from Berroco to make the pom pom detachable so that I can wear the hat with my Three-Quarter-Sleeve Pullover without looking completely match-matchy!
